Galbraith Carnahan’s Office Project
When the opportunity arose to renovate a 1920’s storefront on Wauwatosa’s popular North Avenue, we jumped at it. Formerly a tanning salon, the building had been carved into a messy array of confined rooms and dark hallways. We removed all of the interior non-loadbearing walls to create an open, free-flowing, sense of space. The load-bearing wall down the center of the building helped divide the studio workspace and the more public reception, conference, and kitchenette rooms. The inclusion of local, handcrafted elements helps to create a rich, warm interior that glows when viewed from the street on a cold winter night.
