Pipsqueak Wine occupies a former neighborhood salon along North Avenue in East Tosa, reimagined as a small wine shop and tasting bar. The project required transforming a compact footprint into a flexible interior that supports both bottle retail and intimate by-the-glass service while maintaining a welcoming, human-scaled atmosphere. Galbraith Carnahan Architects reorganized the existing plan to balance retail display with bar seating, creating clear circulation and visual continuity within the narrow space. Materials and lighting were selected to reinforce warmth and comfort, encouraging patrons to linger rather than pass through. During warmer months, the experience extends outdoors as Pipsqueak utilizes a pergola-covered patio, allowing the interior program to spill into the street and strengthen the connection between the shop and the surrounding neighborhood.
