GCA was selected by Brookfield Congregational Church to help refresh their sanctuary space and increase the flexibility of use. The congregation desired a space that would accommodate their diverse musical programs, while retaining the same intimate feel the church prided itself on. On the practical side, renovations included; handicap accessibility to chancel, a hearing loop system, upgraded sound, power, and lighting systems. On the emotional side, the renovation connected existing worship elements to new flexible elements such as moveable choir risers, liturgical furniture, and modesty panels, bridging tradition with newer worship styles. Finishes were updated on nearly all surfaces within the sanctuary to address both wear and to give a freshness to the space. A new exterior door connects the sanctuary to a memorial garden that was installed concurrently with the interior renovation. The end results maintain the identity of the church while keeping the space functional for future generations.
